Administration - Operation
It
is lead by a Consultant Medical Director and is made up of senior and
junior registrars. Doctors work on shifts (07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, and
23:00-07:00).
The progress of the clinic is handed over from one shift to the other.
The latest diagnostic results and any changes in their clinical progress are passed on to the next teams in detail. The order of the visits for the next 8 hours is scheduled depending on the severity of each patient’s condition, any diagnostic doubts that may exist, the level of urgency and the therapeutic needs of each patient.
Similarly
the nursing team works on alternating shifts. Each team takes over patient
treatment from the previous team, detailed updating is done regarding
the treatment, the IV regime, the rates of hydration, the medications,
and other general clinical orders.
The nurses and nursing aids assist in keeping the mobile units replenished before each departure.
The mobile units depart for the scheduled home visits. This order of course often changes, if one of the patients reports a problem or an unexpected complication.
During the night shift visits are done only to patients in acute or critical clinical state, which require more intense attention, as well as for any other new urgent event.
